Carl Hiaasen Book Trailer Contest!
What is a book trailer?
Book trailers are similar to movie trailers, but they promote books instead of films. Book trailers are made to encourage people to read a particular novel or series of novels. Book trailers usually give an audience a sense of what the book is about without giving away too many details so the audience will want to read the book to find out what happens.Students in Marion County Public Schools are invited to enter the Carl Hiaasen Book Trailer Contest!
This contest is being held in conjuction with Mr. Hiaasen's visit to Marion County on April, 16, 2011. See your school librarian for more info and details about this contest.

Skype
Skype is the latest web 2.0 tool I tried. Belinda and I talked in real time over the computer a couple of nights ago. It was awesome. Penny used Skype to bring an author to her school last year. It's a great educational tool with many uses.
